Too busy with family and work to keep this thing going. Still running and trying to get back to where I once was.Calf still sore, but doing a lot of biking to keep the aerobic capacity in tact.
I'll be closing this down very soon.
It's been fun.
Thanks for the wonderful on-line relationships.

Lame
Right hamstring has me hamstrung. Seven miles yesterday and paying for it. Can barely put my socks on, and tying shoes is out of the question. I am in pain. Sitting hurts. Driving hurts. My ass hurts (just the right half).
I've been keeping the miles down to three or four - just to the threshold of pain - during the week, but when I try to go longer the pain sets in hard.
Bike's in the shop, so I just sit around eating bon bons piling on the pounds.
Looking forward to seeing virtual and real friends in Boston in a couple of weeks.
Snow's just about disappeared. Patches here and there on the shaded north side and where the piles have yet to melt down, but it is Spring. And I want to run dammit!

New Polling Place
New Polling Place
My dear friends, the polling for the ski video challenge is not on YouTube, but rather begins on the Saddleback Mountain website beginning today and ends tomorrow. Vote for number 3. Tell your friends and family. Vote early and vote often!
I've been a slacker lately on the posting, but your help would be much appreciated.

Crazy Eights
Nothing really crazy. Eight and a bit miles. Hamstring started to tighten after about 6. Ice bath seemed to really help out. Longest run in a couple of weeks. Gotta get things moving.
Took the old bike into the shop for a spring tune-up in time for starting the commute to work. Also took the opportunity to test drive a new entry level road bike. I am in love. I mean, I like my old 70's Raliegh Super Record, don't get me wrong, but it just doesn't come close.

Straightening Things Out
Finally found an Ophthalmologist who knows what the hell she is doing and I've finally going in for surgery to have my blind eye realigned with the good one. Finally you will be able to tell if I am looking at your the person three feet to your right.
Now, if only I could find a doctor to fix my running. Been laid up with a hamstring issue which seems to be abating.
Going to see about resurrecting the ol' ten speed and start riding to work again now that the weather is getting a little more decent.
I'll be bringing some of our homemade maple syrup down to Boston. Thomas, you may want to look into the regulations on bringing liquid gold back to the Emerald Isle.

Still Runing
The sap is still running as well. Should be a good year.
Five miles this afternoon. That makes three days in a row. Wow. I haven't run this much since a very long time ago.
I heard a very odd noise during my run. I thought perhaps the soles of my shoes were coming loose, but soon realized it was my thighs slapping together.
So, I need your help. I know I have been very, very absent lately. I have not been visiting or posting much at all. I need your help by rating our video submission for the Saddleback Challenge on YouTube. Of course awesome ratings are most welcome, but only if you truly think so...rate with honesty. Ours is titled The McCarthy-Edwards Boys go to Saddleback. If you organize the videos by most viewed, ours is around fourth or fifth.
Oh, you will need to have a YouTube account to rate the video. It's free and easy...no fuss, no muss.
Thanks!

8 Miles and Maple Syrup
Eight very hilly and ugly miles.
Everything from waist down is aching.
Feels good to be running again.
I did manage a few miles on the ski trails this morning as well.
